Xbox 360 users can now give back to the community, with the first charity fundraiser on Xbox LIVE Indie Games. All developer proceeds for the Xbox 360 version of Hot Potato Online will benefit Child’s Play Charity, established to improve the lives of children with toys and games in over 60 hospitals worldwide.
"We are thrilled to see this project come to fruition. It's an ideal combination, where we can bring together our passion for game development with promoting a cause that's important to us" say Jean-François Pérusse and Thiéry Adam, who work under the Potato Entertainment signature.
In Hot Potato Online, players try to explode the opposition with a potato bomb, while attempting to avoid a similar fate themselves. Up to four players or AIs can face off in this fictional sport, in any combination of local or Xbox Live players. Deeply customizable match settings and modes, multiple map themes as well as a custom map editor allow players to fully personalize their frantic experience.
"Child's Play has always seen the core of its support direct from the gaming community. We are very proud to be part of a project where the developers themselves are throwing their support behind the charity by donating all of their proceeds to Child's Play. This is a phenomenal way for gamers to help us out, and have lots of fun with an Xbox LIVE Indie Game as well. When gamers give back, it makes a huge difference." says Kristin Lindsay, project manager at Child's Play.
“Since Xbox LIVE Indie Games does not support free games, this is a great alternative for those developers who want to use our platform to reach millions of users, and support a great cause” says Stephanie Reimann, Product Manager at Xbox Indie Games.

Child's Play: Since 2003, over 100,000 gamers worldwide have banded together through Child’s Play, a community based charity grown and nurtured from the game culture and industry. Over 3.5 million dollars in donations of toys, games, books and cash for sick kids in children’s hospitals across North America and the world have been collected since our inception. http://www.childsplaycharity.org
